Skirt Embellishment

Made my plaid circle skirt a little more interesting since it was so boring. Drew up a little poodle based on both the modern and vintage poodle skirts. Hand stitched it down. Pinned ribbon on and hand stitched it down in strategic places.

The usual photos here. Sorry they're all a little miss-exposed. Too tired to re-shoot them.

I'll have another skirt to show off tomorrow. It glows in the dark <3

Ooo, I love that! I love your clothes, seriously. You're very inspiring too. Too bad I'm too pregnant to wear anything like that right now though, or I'd be sewing for myself for once XD

And glow in the dark is fun! It would amuse Libby for a long while, lol

Sankie! How goes the pregnancy? I've been meaning to ask. How far along are you? XD I want to sew something for Libby! I decided this the other day when I saw some cute little girls running around in adorable dresses.

Pregnancy goes well... I miss my "normal" clothes though, lol
I'm at about 32 weeks (I'm due Nov 2), so beginning of the 8th month.
Doctor thinks she's about 4 pounds, but I'm sure that'll go up quite a bit. Libby was 8 lbs 14oz when she was born, and supposedly, second children are bigger than the first O_o

Sewing for little girls is so fun, I love it. There's a Vogue pattern I need to get, it's a cute dress pattern, but with smocking! I would love to learn how to do smocking ^_^

is that a muslin arm you've attached to your dressform? XD beautiful. I need to buy a new dressform, the one I have currently is too big and thus useless.

Cute skirt, nevertheless.. I'll be anxiously awaiting to see this glowing in the dark one ^_^

It is a muslin arm. I stole it from Jenny when I first moved out here XD~~~ I need a new dressform too. Mine broke and the boobs are a little funky. I'm thinking of getting a professional dressform from the fashion district. I use mine enough it'd be useful.

The glow in the dark fabric is so hideous XD You know me and my love for hideous prints tho. I need to find a way to add glow in the dark embellishments too. If only they sold glow in the dark spraypaint.

They used to make glow in the dark fabric paint (like puffy paint). They probably still do, or a brushable paint at least.

it's okay I love hideous fabric too, I bought a star wars print so I could make a "Mel Inspired" skirt. it probably won't look very good on me, but I bought enough to make two so if it's sooo hideous on me I'll make another and send it to you to model. ^_~

The striped poodle is such a great contrast from the plaid. And the ribbon's so whimsical. So cool. *_*

Hi, this is my new journal. I used to be hkpunkette84 so if you could re-add me that'd be great as I won't be using my old journal now.
